Isfahan Province - Isfahan City
The Hakim Mosque of Isfahan is one of most impressive four-courtyard mosques which was built between 1051 and 1073 AH (during the time of Shah Safi and Shah Abbas II). This mosque was built over the ruins of Jore Jiraz Jame Mosque. Based on the existing inscriptions, the architect of this building was Mohammad Ali Bin Sayed Ali Beyk Isfahani. What makes the Hakim Mosque among the most valuable mosques of Safavid era is its architecture and various inscriptions which were written by Mohammad Reza Emami, a famous calligrapher of the Safavid era. Other points of interest of this building are the beautiful Mehrab that is decorated with Mogharnas and inscriptions in the azure blue background.
